Coming around corner on top of hill today

Came upon four new pieces of fence to stay
Made from oak two by fours and one by ones
The latter honed to points and tapered some

Held in place across by pine backing sections
Pin-nailed to bottom oak strut with imperfection
But where points come up to meet top cross-bar
An almost exact spacing all across has starred

From a distance, it looks so very neat and professional
But up close, is seen the work of a handyman, sessional
No matter, tho ... some time has been invested with care
And a grudging nod of appreciation of effort is shared ...
