Here we are, at the unofficial start of summer

And, this morning, temperature did plummet
And this, after a slight heat wave, a week ago
When humidity was so dense, going to and fro

Now, a cool breeze blows around thru trees
But a slight chill in the air really does please
As long as clothes are layered to keep out wind
Then the coolness is arrested, and does rescind

Making brisk the morning walk around the block
To keep the chill down, along with warm socks
Covering feet and ankles as well as boots on top
Making sure the cold stays away from feet, a lot

And now that the Memorial Day holiday is here
We are about to start Summer, full of good cheer
For Spring has given us a taste of what's to come
So much beauty inherent in Nature - for everyone
