Martha's Vineyard

Build yourself a compost heap
Make sure it's in a wide hole deep
Fence it high around, then feed
Coffee grounds and veggy seeds

Take your ugly green dish soap
Cover it around with pretty tape
Which holds together left-over
Wallpaper full of little clovers

There now - don't you think -
It looks better on back of sink?
Now shine up all the chrome
With peeled onion skins alone

Take out your old wine bottles
And insert lamp fittings on top'l
Then place them all around
The shelves we did at the Sound

If you forget all my recipes
Then come by my site to tease
Yourself with some handy hints
On how to work with colored tints

Then there's the magazine we started
Two days after we got outsmarted
By Bryant's admonition when late
For the Today show - it was great!

So we began our own show daily
Now we can give you tips gayly
More stuff about how to get rid
Of the trash which is now hid

Under piles of junk we've saved
So we can show you roads paved
With dead ducks and skid marks
Along with bad neighbors' remarks

Some day you will have to come round
To houses in Westport or at the Sound
So we can play dodgems in the driveway
Or if you like - out on the superhighway
