For twelve days, non-stop now, the rain's

Fallen from sky, making trees green again
With leaves sprouting this way and that ...
Always budding, and not staying well pat

In one posture - focused on the here and now
For there are so many places to be, and bow
So the green deepens in ever so many ways
As limbs branch out, and sun provides rays

Which turn the rain-moistened leaves light
And then - the deep green will be so bright
Reminding - there's a need for all the rain
For, as it falls ... all of the ground stained

Is washed clean, and wells fill up to brim
So there's plenty of water to wash the trim
Which adorns houses, cars, and people, too
Allowing them to wash away - all the blues

- Tristram
