Around the block this morning
A sweetness found, and calling
One lone rose in empty drive ...
Seeing it, made me feel so alive
Had to have it, so plucked away
In order to bring home, this day
It was wilting, and quite closed
Now it's blooming, I suppose ...
Carefully placed in a small vase
With water in it, and then starred
In middle of glass on coffee table
Had to do it, as soon as I was able
Giving a certain lift to my thoughts
On this special day, it really ought
To fill me full of pleasant feelings
Over work I've done - unreeling
So many pieces with a warm glow
Most of which I've now bestowed
On others near and dear to heart
To uplift them - with the right part
