An interesting coin of phrase

One heard just yesterday ...
In regard to making a life
As a pair, without any strife

But strife tends to come from those
Who see not larger view, head to toes
Focusing on smaller things piecemeal
Such as the mundane every-day deals

Instead of dealing with the bricks of life
Which build the walls, founding the highs
From which, when built, we look down below
At ground from where we started without blows

And from that foundation, we shore those bricks
Slowly, but surely, and using all the right tricks
To make sure the mortar sets well between them
So all of the joints will seal, making sound hems

And, then, as we build each layer, going on up
A sound structure develops - solid, quite tough
Finally, it becomes strong enough to support
The weight of the roof - rigid, and quite taut

On top of which we then can build a chimney
From which furnace exhausts can seep in the
Winter-time, when warmth is so much required
To make us cosy and comfortable and inspired

Then attending to the insides of our four walls
In which we deal with so many other fine calls
Such as brewing coffee, tea and other foods
Right to surface - a feat making us feel good ...
