Hearts opening and closing

Doors do ... often posing ...
Limitations on who we see
Keeping out some who plea

Some do it in ways pleasant
Others rant and rave and pant
Assaulting minds with their hate
Coming from sad places, too late

And then try and justify acts unpure
By quoting harm done - but not sure
So they make up stories so unfounded
In order to make THEM seem grounded

Proof is all in scripts saved and then sent
Which proves other minds are ones bent
For those folks' hearts are not at all open
They closed them down when choking ...

From self-imposed limitations on reality
Which steered them in ways apart aplenty
And then misconceptions quite abounded
Making stews to simmer in which astounded

The only way to live life without any angst
Is to be honest and open and give thanks
Praising where praise is really deserved
And not to assault if praise isn't served

This'll establish an open door at all times
On a heart which will no longer be blind
And thus no hinges will be at all required
For apt exchanges, then will just not tire ...

- Tristram
