True Colors

Truthfullness about who we are and what we perceive
Is a wonderful trait which must be seen to be believed
Folks who go around spouting stories and ideas spun
Upon quite unstable foundations never can have won

For they lose respect when it is seen as totally false
And then there is no exchanges which can be had at all
For doubt about who they are and what they believe in
Then becomes a test which comes with much chagrin

The only real honesty in life - comes from open minds
And this can only really be seen when one's not blind
To goodness which seeps from deep out of the soul
Which a few do have - this keeps one from feeling old

But many others are stewing in soup-pans which burn
Leaving crusts along the bottom, difficult to discern
Until that same pan is used subsequently yet again
And then the nasty-edged flavor - leaves quite a stain
