And the little red robin comes bob-bob-bobbing along

Flitting onto branches, singing his oh, so sweet song
Not a care in the world has he, except to find food
Which he does with so little effort expended too ...

If only it were so easy for real people to do this
Then our lives would be so much better blessed
For all we would need do is spread wings and fly
Landing on some tree or bush up there so high

Then tugging quickly at the object of our prey
Wolfing it down in a hurry as whatever it is lays
Still - waiting for the agony to be quite soon over
It's amazing they don't struggle more or take cover

But the problem may be to do with so much camouflage
As the birds and other wild animals often take charge
By hiding under other clothes, or skins, or other guise
And thus - the smaller creatures are taken by surprise

For those birds and other animals aren't what they seem
Some of them can be other things and many other beings
Like that little red bird who'd dropped onto branch so full
The one who looked to be a robin but was really a cardinal
