Today was the day to start a new treatment

A simple day to remember - one sweetened

In mind, because of quite recent occurrences

So've chosen today to initiate a new currency



... A treatment plan for this man's best friend

Which will continue now until the very end

Of the ear-drops provided recently by the vet

To cure those infections in our very close pets 



So carefully dripped a few in each of dog's ears

Then religiously massaged both without any fear

For initial reaction was to stay still from the soothing

Effect - that became apparent as drops began oozing



Down into ear canals and slightly dulling the hearing

At least, it does on human ears, even causing tearing 

But the dog stayed absolutely quite still and motionless

Almost as if she knew she was being wonderfully blessed



And then gave her hugs and a big kiss right on the snout

Pleased she hadn't gone crazy and started jumping about

Then she shook her head - causing a fine spray all over

And wandered into a corner to lie down and take cover



Shaking her head from time to time even now as verse

In mind, becomes reality as thoughts turn into words ...

And are transferred onto paper and screen to be heard

Where they'll stay now forever etched, for minds to stir
