A very strange sight come upon this morning
About a half-dozen white ducks just crawling
Across the road in front of car, and one ahead
Coming quickly towards mine, as we both sped
Around the corner, then abruptly applied brakes
Suddenly coming to stop as ducks did not shake
Staying close to the ground and waddling slow
Finally getting beyond middle line, so I could blow
Past them, and then smiling at the other driver
Who was grinning back at me, not flustered either
A moment I shall remember for the rest of my life
As I looked back in mirror as he pulled around wide
Giving the ducks all the freedom they do deserve
As all of God's creatures should be seen and heard
For every one of them on earth has a right to be
And to go wherever they choose, as they live free
