Silliness is a wonderful creation

And can provide much elation
But when it gets in the way
Obscuring things you say

In veils of watered-down fluid
Tickling throat as you chew it
There is good reason to end
Thoughts having no sense

And pass on to other minds
Who don't make you feel blind
Opening up new processes
Leaving behind those messes

Which had no real objective
Causing one to be more selective
In welcoming all comers again
For muddles, riding express trains

Have no sensibility or any gain
So rational minds feel the pain
Extricating themselves from lanes
Leading down pathways not plain

And then one is left quite alone
Realizing the fall-in has shown
Humor to have negative impact
Providing much too much slack

And so one tallies the score
Whilst massaging the sores
Relishing well all of the fun
But seeing - there is no sun
