The Utmost Compliment

Food is wonderful indeed - when fresh and lightly cooked
And generously sprinkled with great spices not overlooked
But some are just as good served raw and without garnish
Whilst others can be tasty - delicious - even outstandish

Some are best gently savored morsel by tender morsel
Whilst others are enjoyable when wolfed down the portal
Wine may be a good substance to pair with certain foods
But tea may be just the ticket to make other meals taste good

No matter what it is one decides to make the meal of the moment
There are certain things one does which states utmost enjoyment
One can sing praises of a meal which hits the spot with intensity
But the utmost compliment which can be served with propensity

Is the act of returning to the pot or serving plate with much relish
To serve up a repeat repast with much gusto into one's own dish
This very act says so much more about the enjoyment received
Than any mere words which float from one's mouth upon a breeze
