Carrots are good for eyes they say

They brighten views in many ways
Adding zest and color to all dishes
Making all food seem pretty delicious

But they also provide many nutrients
Which improve vision as they send
Good taste along with their brightness
Improving both flavor and sightness

Buy them already blanched and bagged
Saves extra work and there's no snags
From tails and tips which are waste
Again, payment made for the weight

Then boil them in enough water to cover
And when tender pull them out and over
To a serving dish, and liberally sprinkle
Ground peppercorns all over to twinkle

The eye with contrasting orange and black
Then lightly cover with butter - just a pat
And stir quickly for all flavors to blend
Then serve them up with entre to send

Your own palate and that of friends too
Into sensations of delight as all are imbued
With lightness and color and flavors sweet
A wonderful dish and vision too - to treat ...
