Glass Earring

Picked up a very strange thing the other day
A little bauble had been made from nature
It was a small round orange seed that stayed
On edge, where it had fallen from tree pure

And around it, there had developed an ice shell
Wrapping half-way around the seed so very well
So much so, it looked like one of those earpieces
Which ladies buy sometimes at stores to treat us

- To the delight of pretty faces adorned with baubles
Hanging down from earlobes on either side quite free
The color and shine usually dazzle us with their joyful
- Images which we connect then, with the face, to a tee

If only there could have been a way to preserve the piece
Then, it would have looked so pretty on face - a new lease
But there was no way to keep the whole thing yet together
For current thaw has changed it back to a seed uncovered ...
