The Ravages of Time
As time evolves, then things fall apart
Whether because of light, or things dark
Either extreme, makes things fall asunder
And then you're caught in middle, or under
A deteriorating situation filled with angst
For there is little to do to tie up the planks
Which you've placed together side by side
And as you walk over them, they collide
One into the other, for solid foundation lacks
For you just placed them, without any real tacks
And then as they move around under your feet
You lose your balance, and things are bleak
As you attempt to regain your tight composure
Knowing footing is lost, and there's no closure
And so then you continue on, recementing new ties
Trying to make them solid, so there'll be no surprise
