Sad Eyes

Why do you look at me that way?
Is it something you're trying to say?
Are you telling me once again you don't like your food?
Or are you just in a poignant but yet temporary mood?

A dog, they say - is a man's best friend
But it doesn't seem that way when you end
- Your loving looks and requests for a cuddle
When you look so sad - I'm really in a muddle

Do you want me to taste all of your food for you?
Would that make you feel better and not in stew?
I cannot always know when your food's off the mark
All I can do is open the can, then put it down, parked

Next to all of your other stuff - dry food and biscuits
So much of it always there - yet you smell and scoff it
What can I do to make you want to eat all your food?
Is there something wrong, or are you just in a mood?

- Tristram
