Singing it Softly but Hard

Songs of Love tumble from my mind
Some are wonderful, others not so kind
Where it all comes from, I'm not sure
But I know it's all brimming over, pure

No sooner is one completed, but another
Comes along, assuring me it will never
Cease ... for if it does, I'll be undone
But perhaps it doesn't matter, for none

After a spate of work encompassing a year
Has poured out of heart and mind, with tears
And occasional feelings of bright good cheer
In everlasting pieces posted in themes and tiers

A milestone was finally reached on Saturday
Topping the 600 mark - I really had a field-day
And now I'm just coasting along on ebbing tide
For I've finally reached the level of a good ride
