In the dark
Down at park
Heard a lark
Created spark
Looked up high
At the night sky
Wondered why
The stars sighed
Half moon shone
Did not feel alone
Dog found bone
As she did roam
Looked up into black
Stars beamed back
Counted the tacks
Remembered stacks
Of stuff I'd learned
Which ones burned
Constellations churned
In my mind as I turned
Orion blanketed head
And Big Dipper led
The star march fed
Mind raced as I read
Pegasus galloped
My mind scalloped
Hercules enveloped
The sky then scoped
Gemini unfolded
My mind scolded
Marched forth bolded
Silver became golded
Ursa Major unleashed
An aura of bleach
Forming a real treat
To eyes dazzled neat
Leo raged in distance
Mind became insistent
See it all - don't miss it
The stars omnipresent
Aquarius shone on edge
Stared out at the ledge
Reached back for wedge
Of mind stored dredge
Eridanus way out far
A loose form of stars
Cetus was unmarred
Mind raced unscarred
Capricorn rose large
Forming a barge
Sagittarius was hard
Barely formed in shards
Dog watched at me
Mind lost - so free
So full of glee
Spying beyond trees
Canis Major beckoned
As my mind reckoned
The dog did second
Guess my checking
Ball not up there
Down on this stair
Stood on end my hair
As mind pushed fair
Taurus raged
Eyes blazed
Draco gazed
I was amazed
Scorpio showed
Its pincers glowed
Libra stowed
Stars snowed
Down upon shoulders
Even though I'm older
Remembering bolder
Star bursts were told'er
One never forgets
Once reminded - it gets
Easier to protect
Learning not suspect
Virgo jumped out
Mind spun about
Crater did shout
Corvus at its snout
Corona Borealis clumped
All together at first stumped
But then mind pumped
As dog now jumped
Cygnus shone bright
Mind full of might
Grasping quite tight
At how much light
There is in darkness
Along with starkness
Comes the harkness
Of well-learned partners
Dog tugged at vision
My mind's legion
Lost its region
Dealt with pleasing
Her needs on ground
See to the sounds
Found ball around
Hedge on the mound
Walked back to car
Mind filled with stars
Looming so large
Full of wonder parched
