Unassuming

After a while, it becomes apparent
Things are lost, and then we daren't
Say anything that changes the tune
Of the melody humming so soon

So we go on quietly about our lives
Sorting thru feelings, to learn why
It is, we've yet again found and lost
Love, in all its splendor, now tossed

Communication lacked 'cause of stress
And then things fell apart - a tough test
But there was something there, and assumed
Before other things coming into play loomed

So now I shall never again make assumptions
Love exists, for that takes too much gumption
So I will let my assumptions ride on out door
And then mistakes cannot be repeated anymore
