When deadlines are self-imposed

It's a wonder anyone really knows
We set up pressure for ourselves
And don't even find time to tell

What it is we're doing with our life
And so we go on with our own strife
Trying to meet the times we've set
Working hard at it until it's all met

And then when we're a day behind
Is it our fault or have we been blind
To other factors which tend to control
The situations, and thus don't allow

Us to finish things in a way complete
For they have a way of making us beat
And then we're kinda mad at ourselves
When the fault isn't ours, and yet we yell

But when it's all done, and done right
We're first to pat ourselves on back, light
For we've done it all and are so proud
Now we can go on to other things, loud

In our own self-appreciation and duty
To those things which tend to suit the
Objectives we've arranged and targeted
When it's all done, we're ready to market it ...
