When comparisons are made

Between yourself and others

Then pride comes into play

And you become bothered



By a tune that's gone off-key

For the harmony instilled in you

Initially, so warmed to please 

Has now caused you to choose



Pride devours love in all ways

For ego is precious and above

All of the other forms of care

Including professions of love



Knowing intelligence, is a focus

Some have, and others don't

When you rise above the jokers

Then your time's better spent ...
