Hugging the dog sometimes creates quite a stir

It's really quite extraordinary when I cuddle her
For after a while, her teeth will begin to chatter
Something always amazing to me about the critter

And so I hug her ever closer and then pat her side
Which makes the chatter even louder, with pride
Showing in her face, even through clicking teeth
And so I wonder how it is we bring on this scene

It's as though it's her way of telling me she cares
But a very strange way of showing it, with stares
Associated with this wild and incessant chattering
Which always tickles me, until it stops mattering ...
