When the communication stalls

Who (of two) is the bigger fool?
Is it the one who professed love?
Or is it the one who stayed above?

Love spoken as a way to heighten
Feelings, during passion, brightens
But when it is spoken without truth
Then love exists not, and is uncouth

And when, later, things come to a head
Those feelings are stifled - full of dread
For a love which never really existed
But only exhibited passion, fully consisted

Of a falsity of feelings without any merit
But even tho, the two continued to share it
Bodies entwined ... in a truly empty passion
Enjoined in intense pleasure, but out of fashion
