The dynamics of recording can be so extreme
Heard when making copies onto tape, clean
One musical passage is quiet, the next so hot
You set up levels for the first, and then it's not
Going to work, for all of the pieces on the disc
So then you go back to re-record ones missed
One day, there will be a foolproof way to do it all
Then the work'll not have to be repeated by fools
Who think they know what they're doing, but don't
And over-modulate like crazy, and then they choke
When playing back recordings, hearing distortion
And realize they have to do it all again, in portions
