Layers of white powder lay on the branches

A strange sight to see, what are the chances

This will happen again anytime at all soon?

Perhaps there'll be quite a few half moons



Before the salt will layer itself upon the bark

And when it does, the scene will be as stark

As it is today, really an extraordinary sight

Which will be remembered with all might.
