There are so many problems which come up in life

Many of which can cause one more than a little strife
When everything seems to be going really quite well
Something happens which sends the peace pell-mell

Whether it's snow which turns overnight into slush
Or other little things which can mean so very much
Some of them premonitions of things quite sinister
Which turn into bigger problems if not administered

And so we work at multiple things with cross purposes
Until we've accomplished all in our three-ringed circus
Doing it all at once, trying not to screw everything up
Which happens so easily if you don't focus on one cup ...
