A surprise visit last night by an old flame
Disturbed me in a rather small way again
Turned up on doorstep with her roommate
The two of them just waltzed on in, in a state
Of utter confusion, providing mixed messages
It seemed as tho she wanted to be addressed
In a way which spoke of care and consideration
But some of the words left me with no elation
The lie about none other was clear there to see
It showed her dishonesty in a way not at all free
But I'm glad, in a way, she's now made this stand
For she did not see US as something clear in hand.
