A beautiful young woman ...
All grace and charm
Who gave us her visage
And made us hold out arms
We wanted to cherish her so
For she did not deserve
The neglect of a yet-to-be king
Who could not preserve
The dignity of his position
Or the stature with which born
For he stumbled and fell backward
And now the entire world is torn
By grief for a young princess gone
Who clearly stated there were three
And then went on to dissolve her status
Leaving the prince completely free
With two sons who deserve a mother
As well as the upbringing of royalty
Who need so much to be in touch
With real people so they can then see
What it means to be "of the people"
Something their Mum knew oh, so well
Even whilst smarting from the knowledge
She was part of a trio caught in the swell
