There is a major stillness in the air now
A precursor to the real winter's snows
A coldness which has finally settled in
Providing awareness of winter's sting
And the bundling up's started in earnest
As the coldness seeps into all our nests
Causing chills in our bones and in hearts
For the stillness opens doors to new starts
Ushered in on gusts of icy cold mean drafts
Which reflect sorrows and sadness of the past
Some of which have created similar chills
But none of them really were major, - still ...
