My view out the front window lately is partially obscured

By three books placed on top of record-player insured
To be wonderful re-reads in future time yet to come
Whenever my own mind needs rest or goes numb

From all of the words I tend to place daily on-screen
Some of which are really wonderful and not green
But in case my mind stops working, I have the choice
To settle down with my three works about the boys

David Copperfield, Oliver Twist and Great Expectations' Pip
Who are all lads from whom every boy could learn some tricks
All of which have provided me with wonderful learnings past
But perhaps it's not too late to learn them over again at last
