Half is Better than Zero

There are ones and there are tens
And as we go thru life, it depends
Not so much on how big the number
But on whether we're willing to crumble

The sum total of the complete digit
Into its composite parts, and thus visit
The crumbs to assess their unique value
And address the encompassing beauty too

There are many individual assets we possess
Some might be time and proximity which bless
- Us with a value system which makes it easy to assess
The component parts, and thus sort out all of the mess

All it takes is a willingness to resolve all matters
And this takes commitment to communicate that's
Well intended, pure and true ... and if we do this
There is no telling how much better our bliss

All we need do is reach out and call ...
And touch the mind who made us fall
If we can do this and swallow our pride
We'll feel so much better deep down inside
