Second Chances
We wade into things without really thinking
Clearly ahead ... as our eyes are twinkling
And we don't always tie together the knots
For our temperature has been running hot
And then the reality appears quite full face
Making us realize we have fallen from grace
Little things which were quite overblown
Which could've been simple on their own
And yet - we roll them up into a bigger picture
As we feel we cannot face them quite mature
And talk them out clearly in logical manner
For we are hiding something under a banner
Things we have held onto - not wanting to give
Because of all of the hurt feelings we've lived
- With in the past, which have held us in check
So many of which aren't that important on deck
And yet we've plowed them into huge piles
Making them so much bigger along the miles
All we need do to resolve all of these matters
Is to address them - not hang them in tatters
We can do this if we're willing to communicate
And by so doing - we will get out all the hate
For nobody deserves closing out of our lives
As long as we're willing to share it all by and by
