So much of what we do is governed by what we see with our eyes

And yet - there are things which can really only be seen - a surprise!
With our ears - for they are sensitive to so many more things in life
Than words delivered in print or read from screens full of such strife

For when we read, we do so with interpretations of our own making
Perceptions we form which may have nothing to do with the baking
Of pies put in ovens by caring and extremely well-intentioned chefs
Who rely on two other important senses in order to cook food blessed

They use both smell and taste to form their magnificent concoctions
Something writers do not need as they put together their confections
All they need are those other three senses so very important to their art
The one about seeing, the one to do with feeling ... and yes - ears ...
to hear it ... right before it parts ....
