On the Water's Edge

Around the lake's edge ...
Thin ice is now wedged
Between shore and swans
Keeping them all from ...

Stale bread rolls
Some with mould
Kids threw out
With gay shouts

Not seeing them stuck
By ice sheets tucked
So the swans gaze ashore
Oblivious, to the core ~
