The Red Boots

It's a wonder we do not all get tied up in knots
As some rules of policy are apt to make us hot
Clearance items can only be sold for outright cash
No layaways are possible, so don't even ask

So you have to decide which goes, and which stays
Slippers and one pant are the only items allayed
The other pant, and shirt, and boots and sneakers
Will have to be paid for cash ... or given the beaker

So you take the necessary footwear and give up all t'other
Altho' you find you want to use them to kick the policy shover
But, you walk away from the store with your happy new feet
Even tho' your head feels like it's been sliced up in the street
