A Calmer Tide ...

Baby, you have come a long way
Over hills and dales, with no pay
The bumpy waves you rode along
Caught your mind in a so sad song ...

You cried out for help from high above
Even begged the Lord to give you a shove
But, now, the door has been opened wide
The surf's ebbed into a much calmer tide

Your life hung by a thread from the stars
And you cried words of love from your bars
Then, the heavens locked you out once again
And your heart sings a tune without refrain

As your music floats upon silent breath
You grasp for the air to quell your death
Closing out the light which sparked your eyes
As you ride the cruise ship - the dangled prize

- Tristram
