Through the window, beyond the trees
Lays a sky layered with an orange frieze
Merged with blue mantle, on a still breeze
Far in the distance, and yet it does please
As sunset fires with its deep burning glow
And gently disappears, as it goes down low
Astonishing images in deep hues which stow
Snapshots for postcards remembered to show
Glorifying the beauty of a sky filled with color
Of a depth so special, and yet, there'll be others
But this one will be remembered stark, uncovered
For the wonder it was - in the wide eyes of a lover ...
