Under the Boardwalk



On this very date in eighteen hundred and seventy

A quite small event ushered in one signifying plenty 

For the first section of the boardwalk was opened

In Atlantic City, New Jersey ... a place of hoping ...



For now it provides a home for gamblers to come

So they can try their luck at beating the odds, tons

Which is an impossible feat ... and this many will find

For gambling, after all, is a game, played in the mind
