Mario Druthers and Doogie

Birthdays today cover several fields
Politics, Country and Pop are the yield
As well as one or two actors known well
Quite popular ones, and all ... to hear tell

The former governor of New York heads the list
The Democrat who promised more taxes if picked
Which nobody did ... preferring the Republican ...
A lesson taught Mario Cuomo ... that it had to end

And Waylon Jennings ... one of Country's best
Along with Nelson and Kristofferson - who attest
To a friendship amongst the three who've captured
Fans across the imaginary musical lines shattered

Which Steve Walsh has done with his Kansas
Merging Rock, Country, and Classical standards
And Air Supply's Russell Hitchcock has also sat
Upon the fence between Pop and some other hats

A neat trick which Jim Belushi has also embellished
With his comedy and straight acting of some merit
Which Neil Patrick Harris has also done after Doogie
Showing a feeling for both in several of his movies

As has Shakespeare in Love's Simon Callow ...
An actor and director ... and a versatile fellow
And actress Helen Hunt - who wows the guys
In a simple television sitcom with a loving guise

And Julie Hagerty - who made Airplane rock
With a simplistic approach amongst the knocks
And Courteney Cox ... just one of a few Friends
Who makes it seem as tho friendship never ends

... and - on that note ... THIS shall end ...

- Tristram
