An Eleven-Year Journey



On this date in nineteen eighty three

A milestone was attained in history

For a spacecraft launched in seventy-two

Finally passed orbits of Neptune and Pluto



And continued its way on beyond ...

Wending its way thru space, and on

The Pioneer 10 is the first space probe

To ever be sent that far from this globe



It will be very interesting now to see

What it can send back in years to be

For the journey into space has no bends

... An endless exploration without end ...
