Getting the Low-Down

Today's the birthday of a number of folks ...
Peter Pan's original lady of the high ropes
Millicent Martin ... of stage and screen ...
Shares her birthday with others not green

Including former first lady Barbara Bush ...
Who glamorized The Golden Girls, in a rush
And actress Dana Wynter and comedienne Joan Rivers
Along with James Darren - who set many hearts aquiver

And Nancy Sinatra, whose boots were made for walking
And Three Dog Night's Chuck Negron, who did the talking
Whenever they were interviewed by the media ...
About the name used for the four of them - to stir

And then there's Don Grady, who was Chip ...
On My Three Sons ... the one always hip ...
And Mick Box ... musician with Uriah Heep
And Bonnie Tyler ... a singer not bleeped

Sonia Bragia ... an actress who often was
And Griffin Dunne ... an actor who paused ...
Mick Hucknall ... the man behind Simply Red
And Keenan Ivory Wayans - a noted baldhead

Whose clever writing and direction paid off
In a television variety comedy series quite hot
And Nick Rhodes of Duran Duran - the pop group
And Boz Scaggs ... who still sings with a troupe

And actor Bernie Casey of Starsky and Hutch
His character, tho likeable, was just too much
And Kathy Baker, Dan Futterman, and Kelli Williams
Tony Rice and Julianna Margulies are all getting opinions

But the only ones that matter are your very own
So don't let anyone else sell you short to the bone
For, just like all of these folks who are in the light
Everyone, birthday or not, has one thing they do ...
just right ...
