G-Men

It's a birthday today for musician Kenny G
Along with a few others who're in their fifties
Including Spalding Gray and Fred Stone
Who, with Sly ... provided some rich tone

As well as Bill Moyers, newsman of tv
And a few singers who do some Country
Including Gail Davies and the Statlers' Don Reid
And then there's Floyd Butler, who does R & B

And rockers Laurie Anderson and Nicko McBrain
And also Richard Butler of Psychedelic Furs' fame
Then there's blues singer Brian McKnight
Whose soulful ballads hit just about right

Then there's actors Karen Sillas and Chad Allen
And tv personality Mark Wahlberg's chillin'
After rapping, and hosting a talk series ...
It probably won't be long before his theories

Wind up in a book ... for everyone who has a tv show
Will - sooner or later, be asked to make with the wordflow
Something that really should be left to those who write
Because not everyone can turn words into lights ...

But, so said ... it's all of these folks' birthdays
And so we will now take the time to say ...
We wish each and every one of them the very best
And may they always be so very well blessed ...

- Tristram
