World War I

After four years of fighting on quite a few fronts
Thirty-seven million had died, most in Russia, France
And about fourteen million Germans and Austrians
In their conflicts with Serbia, Belgium, other lands

The end result would only keep peace for twenty years
Before the biggest World War ever fought - far or near
With most of the same countries taking up the very same sides
In a war nobody really wanted ... but it couldn't be denied ...
