This morning, up early, walked the dog in the dark

Around the block, couldn't see, really quite a lark
Except - out across the other side of the N.Y. lake
Where tiny pinpoints of light in still quiet breaks

Scattered amidst reflections in water's surface
So many, the darkness was alive with purpose
Awed, continued - gazing out across the eerie scene
Wondered how much more light could be in the beam

Which shined over us as we did devour each other
Hungrily lapping up all the juices as we lay on covers
Hours dwindled by as the sun moved around the room
And the wonder you are, seeped over me without gloom

Again and again, the flow poured out of you from inside
As my teeth nibbled and tongue darted about the sides
And bittersweet odors flooded over me time and again
As time moved so slowly and you doused me like rain

Loving every single moment you shared self with me
So much of you to give - it felt so good and totally free
The swamp of your love overflowed - so very often
My own ability to let go was overshadowed as cotton

Threads, sometimes got in the way of my full vision
Which opened and closed regularly as our fusion
Of minds, bodies, hearts, souls and even spirits
Came together in a mass of limbs, transfixed ...
