There is much here to take on - to that, this writer will attest

Some of it is marvelous ... with its breadth, and its depth

The words are filled with light humor which gives spark

And the verses sing with a lilt, without becoming a lark



Each and every piece has something quite serious to say

Even those lighter pieces which allude to rolls in the hay

The ones which speak of love - quite often do it with fun

Analogies which can burn holes in pockets, and then some



But the liveliness on these pages always does give a smile ...

To that, many readers will attest, as they've gone thru the miles

Of verses which speak about almost everything under the sun

Some of them do it with such melodious harmony, one by one



You are tempted to go on and read even more of the words

Some are even impressed enough to call, so the poet be heard

To these who have done this, the writer expresses sincere thanks

Of all of the nastiness which sometimes affects us - all those tests

Of our sensitivities which sometimes offends, but here you're blessed



With piece after piece of wonderfully clean thoughts and images

So many of them abound - and will lessen all of the scrimmages

Which plague us daily from minds of people who choose to hurt

But here there is much love, kindness and tenderness - in spurts.
