It's Christmas Day ... and an absolutely wonderful time to rejoice

Blessings abound from the hearts of those who've made the choice

To spend it with the ones they love, in order to enjoy all good cheer

And who now share all the goodness in their hearts, as they hear



The peal of Christmas Bells and Carols amidst gaiety and laughter

As children unwap presents from Santa and then play ever-after

And parents and relatives give each other knowing nods and winks

As everybody shows their appreciation and hugs each other in a blink



Of an eye - as all past sadness is forgotten ... smiles turn into laughs

The joviality of the day rings clear ... food flows like water into bath

As everybody enjoys the pleasure of each other's good company

And the twinkle in the eyes of a child breaks through and so does free



Our hearts from any and all constraints which have been placed on us

During the preparation for this big day as we wrapped, cooked and fussed

And now the glimmer in the eyes of the children makes it all worth while

For Christmas is really all for them ... and so their glee - makes US smile ...
