Geometric triangles in shades of beige, coffee, cream and brown

Comfort me as I gaze around at the images whenever I feel down
Stuffed lions abound perched on loveseat arms, edges and cushions
Each one represents a person and time past in my mind's passions

Ceramic statues of a lion, a tiger, and three veiled white nuns
All remind me of another time and place when there was one
Who cared enough for me to share something from their hearts
Simple things of beauty which some crafted carefully as their art

A tri-sectioned gold mirror reflects them from on top of the mantel
Tear-pendant chandelier lamps sit either side, made of gold metal
A pair of crossed gold foils hang from the stone fireplace above
With brown-painted arc-lamps highlighting them - which I love

Positioned midway along three of the four cathedral beams
Straight from a burnt-down theatre which now's only a dream
A short way below is shelves filled with leather-bound books
Enriched with gold embossment to gaily improve their looks

All around me are other books which fill my heart with awe
Some just wonderful to look at for they're filled with great store
Of knowledge which overflows from the richness on the pages
Which has filtered into my mind through the years in stages

And now I remember well all of the good times which've passed
When wonderful people have shared reflections in that glass
And my heart envelops fond remembrances of all the rounds
Of shared passion spent merging deeply amongst the browns
