On the trees fall a bright white

From a darkened sky, without bite
And inside, lines disappear into night
For layered trees reflect the edge of light

Masking a sun, clearing out shadows
Feeling the song's cast ... so narrow
And mind wanders into dark arches
Wafting thru portals, body marches

The walk is cobbled, the stones jagged
A mindscape floats upon things ragged
On either side ... walls reach up high
Bricks in layers - reaching to the sky

Founded upon promises made and broken
Many dreams built upon love's many tokens
And through it all - one lonely traveler ...
Loving the vision, but not the unraveler ...

- Tristram
