It was one of those walks garnering instant frustration

For the dog wouldn't come ... causing consternation
So - had to retrace steps back around the building
Seeing her just standing there ... fixed ... unyielding

... Resumed walk ... turning, heading right back around
But upon a look back - she was nowhere to be found ...
Finally, decided to return to where she was last poised
Feeling just a wee little bit more than slightly annoyed

For her stubbornness had caused a retrace of steps twice
Never before had her behaviour been not quite so nice
But an explanation was very soon to be forthcoming ...
For her predicament soon turned bitching to humming

In front of my beloved pooch was a huge netted veil ...
Placed there to protect the trees and save them from hail
Preventing the dog from advancing in onward direction
And so she just stood there panting, causing introspection

For the anger and frustration quickly left in a flash ...
As a walk around it allsuddenly became a mad dash
For the netting had crumbled around her ... hemming her in
And the poor dog knew not how to free herself from the string

Finally, caught glimpse of an opening close to the ground
And quickly pulled it up so my frustrated pet could be sound
Even so ... her panting proved some obvious consternation
As my anger faded, turning into chuckles of exhilaration
